What happens if the bath water freezes?

Hot tubs are designed to withstand a bottom freeze, but there is a risk when the ice melts as the lifting force of the ice becomes so great that it can pull the heat shield and/or stove from its fixings. There is also a risk when water freezes/melt repeatedly that the plastic will be damaged, as the pressure increases with each freeze.

Therefore, we recommend that you do not let the bath water freeze all the way down, but an ice crust of a few centimeters is no danger. It is also a good idea to use a lid so that the barrel is dry when it is used in winter. Otherwise it can be difficult to insert the bottom plug, for example.

Ice also takes a very long time to melt, so we recommend emptying the barrel in winter and refilling it when necessary to save time when you go swimming. Remember to wait at least 24 - 48 hours before emptying the bath water so that the stove is completely dry.
