Exterior and floor

The barrel itself is made of wood such as pine or spruce. The panel on the outside needs to be treated to withstand the elements. This can be done by painting, varnishing or oiling the wood. The roof can be made of cardboard or shingles. Glass panels in doors and on the short side of the barrel inside the sauna room give a light and airy feeling. These should be at least 7 mm thick to provide the stability and safety that may be required. The floor should be fitted with a ventilation duct where spilled water can also drain.
