Building permit for a sauna?

Building permits are not normally required for open-air sheds, which sauna barrels are considered to be. However, it is important to bear in mind that it is not possible to have several open-air sheds on the same plot without requiring a building permit. There may also be special regulations for zoning areas, so it may be worth contacting the municipality before making a purchase. This also applies if the barrel is to be placed near water, or near the boundary of the plot. In such cases, special permits may be required.
