Thermowood is an environmentally friendly alternative to pressure-treated timber. The heat treatment has positive effects such as greater resistance to rot and fungus, increased dimensional stability, reduced cracking and improved insulation. The wood keeps its shape and is rot-resistant because the heat treatment has helped the wood to absorb less water.
