How should the ground be prepared for a hot tub?
The sauna should stand on absolutely flat ground or level, the groundwork is the most important part of a building. For a good groundwork there are of course many ways to go, consult someone with experience in construction.
You can place a sauna directly on a lawn, but we do not recommend this. It will then be cold in winter, hot in summer and the movements in the ground can contribute to problems with doors and windows being difficult to open and close. If it is possible to place the sauna on asphalt, we would definitely choose this option.
Our other option is to dig and cast a concrete pillar that then rises to the desired height. The same way as if you build a patio or terrace on your plot. Or even better is to build a deck around the sauna. This keeps the sauna frame stable and creates a very cozy environment around it.
Our third option is leca blocks. It's a very simple way that actually makes the ground nice and level where you can walk and stand. Lay down some marker cloth and some gravel and then stack the leca blocks (with cement in between) to just the right height and then cut to exactly the right height and make sure they are straight.
