Quality and materials

Most high-quality electric sauna stoves are made of stainless steel, aluminium or galvanized metal and should be properly coated for effective rust resistance. However, it always pays to be careful with paint coatings on the stove. Over time, the extreme environment of the sauna can cause paint coatings to peel off the metal surface. This can quickly lead to corrosion of the metal underneath if it is not otherwise protected. To avoid this, many people today choose a stainless steel stove.

Be careful about pouring a bucket of water over an electric heater. Make sure that the sauna stones are properly heated before pouring water on them, as the water will evaporate before it gets as far as the heater. No matter how careful you are, the stove should be thoroughly waterproofed to protect against accidents.
