Sauna heaters powered by gas are significantly cheaper to operate than the electric models. Gas heaters are also considered to be a better alternative from an environmental point of view as they result in less carbon dioxide emissions. Not all homes have access to gas, but if you are planning to build a larger sauna or plan to use your sauna more regularly, a gas-powered heater is likely to be a more cost-effective option in the long run. Sauna heaters run on either natural gas, LPG or in some cases even propane. LPG and propane heaters are generally supplied in an external gas cylinder.
